Important Information for Picking Up Your NUC
Transportation:
Your NUC will be prepared and sealed for transportation. Keep the NUC box parallel with your vehicle during transport to help prevent the frames from shifting or hitting each other during stops and turns.
Queen:
The queen will be secured in her own queen cage with worker bees. Our team will provide instructions for introducing her to your colony when you arrive.
Installing Your Bees:
Our NUCs are strong colonies and will need additional space once you bring them home. Have your hive equipment prepared and ready before pickup so you can install your bees as soon as possible.
After transporting your bees, allow approximately 15–30 minutes before opening the NUC, as the colony may be agitated from the journey.
Feeding:
Feeding your NUC after installation is recommended, particularly when installing the colony onto undrawn foundation. Be sure to have the appropriate equipment ready before bringing your bees home.
Please Note
All NUC orders are non-refundable.
Because NUCs are prepared specifically for pickup and the bees are living colonies, we cannot be responsible for bees or queens that become overheated after they leave our care. Please plan your transportation carefully and avoid leaving your bees unattended in a hot vehicle.
Our knowledgeable team is available to answer questions and help you prepare for your new colony. If you have questions about ordering or picking up your NUC, please contact us:
