Wine, Cheese and Honey Pairing

Many people know honey as the sweet liquid honeybees make to put on peanut butter sandwiches, dipping sliced apples, add to tea for a sweetener or as syrup over pancakes.  

For decades cheese and wine have been a great combination, which does amazing things to the palate, making the taste buds go wild. Located in Niagara On The Lake, in the center of Canada’s number one wine country, we get to see many unique parings with wine. Over the years we have heard, “did you try this food or this cheese with such and such wine?”. Sometimes we have heard, “Wow these pairing taste great but it feels like something is missing”.

Let’s take it back to our farm where we have developed many flavours of Creamed Honey and BYs is the first in the world to create an Ice Wine Creamed Honey. The flavours we have put together with our honey are truly a delight to anyone looking for the next level of honey.

This has now brought us to other pairing such as cheese, wine and honey. The salty and sometimes creamy flavours of cheese paired with an exquisite bottle of wine from one of our local Niagara Wineries, along with one of our BYs honeys, either flavoured or natural, makes for an exciting eating experience. Wineries around Niagara are noticing that a great food/wine pairing goes excellent with the sweet flavour of honey.
